Tuna or Chicken Salad Nori Wrap

This has been my hyperfixation lunch since September and there is no sign of me giving it up anytime soon. Basically, just make a wrap/sandwich but replace the tortilla or bread with a large square of nori (seaweed). At this point I’ve made countless versions and each one is tasty and ultra satisfying. It’s also super healthy. If you load up on veggies, you’re 1) keeping the health quotient high and 2) stretching the goods so you can eat multiple wraps in one sitting with zero guilt.

Basically place a square of nori – shiny side down – on a plate or cutting board, lay seasoned tuna or chicken salad in a row across the bottom, pile on veggies that will add texture (like allll the lettuce and veggies), sprinkle sauce and/or seasoning, and roll up. Becuase you’re using a mayo-based salad as your base, it’ll hold everything together so you don’t need to tuck in the sides – easier to roll than a burrito.

Here are some flavor combos:

  • Tuna mixed with keypie mayo, sriracha, and scallions + julienned cucumber + sliced radishes + shredded charrots + everything bagel seasoning
  • Tuna mixed with mayo + mound of lettuce + nuts (pistachios or slivered almonds) + extra kewpie mayo
  • Chicken salad + avocado + fried onions + Sir Kensington’s aji amarillo everything sauce
  • Chicken salad + julienned bell pepper + cabbage/slaw mix + everything bagel seasoning or dried dill + buffalo sauce

I’m going to stop now, but the options are endless…
