Oh thank heavens. It’s finally February. January felt like it was about three months long. On Monday I was like howwww are we still here?! It’s still cold, but at least I know we’re making our way through the calendar. I don’t have much planned for February, but January was filled with plans so perhaps that’s ok.

After seeing an influencer post about some faux hydrangeas that cost a mere $16, I promptly added them to my Amazon cart. They’re not the most realistic, but they’re not terrible and they add some needed dimension to that side of the bar. It also means I get to use a vase we received for our wedding that is a more difficult shape to fill. And it got me to clean up the catchalls that the vase replaced. Those catchalls were initially meant to be a key drop, but for…years…have housed random bits and bobs (a roll of washi tape, a keyless keychain, a usb cord) that haven’t actually been used. If it’s no longer serving a function (and the function could be “being pretty,” but this catchall wasn’t doing that), it’s no longer serving me and it’s time to go.

We did really well when it came to date nights this month. We had a babysitter for every single weekend – look at us! The most exciting, however, was probably this past Saturday when we went to the second to last night of Gutenberg! on Broadway. I was in stitches! I love a musicals and this one was pure fun.

Grating your hard boiled eggs really is the way to go. I know most of the videos on TikTok do this on avocado toast, but I don’t even think you need the avocado. Toasted sourdough + kewpie mayo + grated egg + whatever seasoning you like is perfect. Sriracha? Dill and pepper? All good and super satisfying as a WFH lunch.
