Book Review: The Last Love Note

It’s been two years since her husband died and Kate is struggling with the grief of losing her one true love while trying to maintain a brave and happy face for her young son. Her boss, Hugh, has been incredibly understanding and has become more than a mere colleague. He gives her the space and grace she needs to work her way through her feelings, knowing she’ll continue to perform at peak capacity. It’s obvious that Hugh is Kate’s second chance at love, now we just need to wait for Kate to figure that out.

Perhaps it’s because it’s a bit messy, but I found this to be a beautiful love story – and I’m not typically one for romance. Like any romcom, there are elements of too-perfect-to-be-true, but there are also moments of feeling broken that are all too real. This book manages to be heartbreaking yet hopeful and a bit funny all at the same time. It is a perfect rainy day read.
