34th and 10th is not where you’d expect to find a country time woodsy coffee shop. A little bit further west and you’ve reached Hudson Yards territory, but by this point you’ve gone just past the border of that shiny little corporate village. You’re in no man’s land, not even at Penn Station yet (though, admittedly, I wouldn’t expect cuteness by Penn Station either). AND YET.

I had been at the Peloton studio and rather than go home to my boring four walls to get back to work, I figured it would be a great place to pop open my laptop (and break with a book). I figured right. Old Country Coffee is homey and giving off Amish Country vibes. That’s a compliment. My latte was a perfect afternoon pick-me-up and it was nice to enjoy my caffeine in what felt almost like an oasis compared to all the glass and iron of the Hudson Yards area.
