Saiguette

Long ago, I bookmarked a video about how great Saiguette was…and then promptly assumed I’d never try it unless I took a “me day” and went on an adventure to the LES. Only, it’s not on the LES; it’s uptown. Like Harlem-ish uptown. Still, it was crosstown, which can be, oddly, more annoying to get to sometimes. And then I realized they deliver to me. And they deliver FAST.

I ordered a bunch of stuff because I just needed to try. I got the bahn mi (lemongrass pork), shrimp summer roll, and peanut mochi rolled in coconut. On a night not long after when my allergies were really kickin, this time for some laksa. Everything was GREAT. The bahn mi and the laksa: yessssss. It had the amount of spice I needed and a depth of flavor that told me things had been simmering for a while. And the portions? Substantial. Oh and the price? Pretty low.

This is just a takeout/delivery operation, but if you’re in the radius it’s a must. It’s already heavy in my own rotation.
