They renovated and reopened the Central Park pool right by our apartment and we just went for the first time. Yes, I did walk in and immediately start singing “96,000.” The facilities are very nice and the pool is massive. At its deepest, it’s only 3’8”, which makes it very manageable with a toddler who can’t swim. They’re pretty strict about the rules (no electronics so phones have to stay in your locker, no food, no coverups) so it’s just you in your bathing suit and a towel. It was nice being forced to pack light. It made me realize the pool doesn’t have to be a whole production, which means it’s something we can and should take advantage of all summer long.

Finn had his first big boy hair cut. He’s been getting his haircut for a couple years now, but always at a kiddie place where he sits in a race car and gets to watch tv. The most recent time, the cut the wasn’t great so we took him to the barbershop across the street to get it cleaned up. There might not be a toy store attached to the shop, but they were able to give him a proper fade. It was also half the price. Just one more sign that he’s growing up!

We spent Sunday afternoon in Connecticut for my mother in law’s 75th birthday. Her party was at Captain’s Cove, and I love spending a summer day on the waterfront.
