Schaller & Weber has been a German butcher in the UES since the 1930s. They know their way around a sausage link. And, apparently, they know good cocktails. About three years ago they took over the space next door to open an Austrian-inspired cocktail bar. Jeremy’s is narrow and the dark, moody side of mid century. The marble!

The food menu is small but it’s got some good shareable bites – we got the warm olives and I think this is an underrated preparation. For drinks, I started with a Negroni because they have several versions and they have them on tap. The Negronis are one of several drinks included in their happy hour that goes until 7pm – yes, even on weekends. That alone makes this worth a visit. Oh and oysters and snacks are also included in their happy hour deal. Yes please. I moved into an espresso martini and was just loving my best life.

We were in a cute little booth up front, tucked away feeling all romantic (with my parents), but there is apparently a back patio that I’d love to check out. The whole place feels sophisticated and makes me wish I lived in Europe back in the day. (Don’t we all?)
