Thank goodness this is a short week because it started ROUGH. After a lovely long weekend, everything that could possibly go wrong on Tuesday, did. First, I accidentally turned off my alarm and overslept; though I miraculously made it out of the apartment and to school dropoff in time, the subway was crazy delayed; there was miscommunication over an email chain at work; I had a positive but emotionally draining conversation at lunch; and my parents had to cut their upcoming visit short due to the weather forecast. Things can only go up from here, and I have to admit that I already started turning things around on Tuesday night so there’s that!

The gingerbread competition is a favorite annual exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York that we’ve attended every year since its inaugural season. We barely made it this time, but I’m so glad we did because the bakers really stepped up their game.

I mentioned I started turning things around on Tuesday night and that’s all because I went to Rough Draft for a writers night. It’s so nice to have a bar that encourages creativity and welcomes laptops. I crossed the 33k mark and recruited a someone for a new writers’ group I’m trying to kickstart.

K-Pop Demon Hunters is EVERYTHING. I admit I can’t stop singing the songs either. So when I saw there was a singalong screening at the 92nd Street Y followed by a Q&A with Ejae (the real Rumi) and Mark Sonnenblick (the songwriter), I bought tickets immediately. It was the first time Finn had attended an event like this and he had a blast. Getting to do cool cultural things like this – with a 4-year-old no less – is why I love living here. Also, what are the odds that our neighbors happened to sit down in the seats directly next to us despite it being a sold out event at a large venue that we hadn’t discussed with each other. NYC can be shockingly small.
