Soooo it’s still cold and we’re still surviving. This week has been basic, but we have tons of plans for the weekend. Albert and his are out with friends on Friday night, Finn has a playdate Saturday afternoon, Saturday night we’re going out as a fam with our besties, and on Sunday we’ve got another play date set up with an old friend from high school that I recently reconnected with. It’s nice feeling booked and busy. And let’s face it; if we didn’t have set plans we would for sure hibernate in the apartment.

I love attending the Manhattan Vintage Show every year. The people watching is incredible – how everyone managed to truly turn it out in the insanely cold temps is beyond me. You pay for general entry to the market and I think, if anything, the vendors mark the prices up a bit, but there’s a benefit to having all these vintage vendors (92 this year) in one place. I went in with a clear strategy and walked out with several bags of goodies.

Since he made plans for watching Finn while I was at the vintage show, Albert suggested I go someplace afterwards to write while I had a rare pocket of alone time. As usual, he was right. I walked around the corner to Bar Veloce – an old faithful of a wine bar – and set up shop at the bar. I managed to get a lot done and just know I exuded main character energy with my laptop and glass of wine.

Last night “The Muppet Show” returned and it was nice to have a piece of clean, old fashioned entertainment. It still gives off the very same energy as the version from my childhood, and I think it’s something V would really enjoy – good thing we DVR’d it.
