This week has felt great. It started with a snow day on Monday and my office was generous enough to let us WFH which made the idea of balancing childcare way less stressful. I then got to see in action how lucky I am to have a husband who pitches in when aftercare was canceled on Tuesday and I had an early morning doctor’s appointment yesterday. I also hit the milestone of the halfway point in my manuscript and am riding the high of accomplishment. Tonight I have a haircut and am planning to take myself on a date to get some more writing done. It feels great to find a groove and to have a nice mix of relaxation and productivity. We have some fun plans for this weekend so I’m looking forward to keeping all this positivity going.

V had his first real swim lesson on Saturday and did great. I’m excited for him to become a little fishy. I also love that we seem to have picked an ideal time and neighborhood for the lesson. Late enough that we don’t have to rush out of the apartment and can grab a coffee on the way, but just early enough to enjoy a library visit and fun lunch after. All of a sudden the day is halfway over and we’ve been busy having fun.

The clutter in our apartment has gotten out of control. We’ve got so much stuff just thrown into closets and bins and on tables that we can no longer find the things we actually need. I tackled the closet in Finn’s room and it’s bringing me so much joy. Before Saturday, I intend to clean up the toy bins, my bedroom dresser, and all the books that have taken over the apartment.

I used to go through Grand Central daily and it never got old. I always marveled at its beauty and felt invigorated by all the commuters living like they’re in a movie. Sadly, it’s no longer a regular stop, but when I had to pass through yesterday I’m happy to report I still stopped to admire it.
