Italians know how to do two things well: espresso and wine. La Bomboniera does both.
At 91st and Lex, it is the perfect spot to grab a drink and gab with a friend right before or after an event at the 92nd St. Y. It feels strikes a nice balance between cozy and rustic and occupies a space in the UES that has just enough stuff to keep you from feeling bored/cut off, but it definitely ups the vibrant quotient significantly.
They have limits on laptops, but I for an hour, I found it to be a great writing environment. I sat at the bar and got one of each type of drink. The wine list is great and the bartender was super helpful in finding a red that was juuuust right. Honestly, this whole place feels just right. I’ll be back.
