Book Review: Their Vicious Games

As a scholarship student – black scholarship student, more specifically- at the elite Edgewater Academy, Adina Walker has had to be perfect. She’s mastered both academics and code switching and has secured a spot at an ivy. But when she pisses off the wrong entitled high schooler, her admission is revoked. Her only chance at regaining what she’s lost is to participate in The Finish, a dating and etiquette competition run by the school’s founding family, the Remingtons, where one young woman basically wins the hand of a Remington son and all the power that comes with it. Adina soon learns these girls will do absolutely anything to win.

This was a blind date with a book and the wrapping said “squid games meets the bachelor” and “satire” and “dark academia.” Ummm yes. It fully lived up to the description and I absolutely loved it.

4.75 out of 5 stars.
