When your Monday workday ends at 1 AM, your week isn’t off to the best start. It’s been a rough one so I’m very happy we’re close to the weekend. On the bright side, I have the most supportive friends, family, and boyfriend. When this week tore me down, they swooped right in to build me back up. I’m very lucky to have such amazing people in my life. Now I just hope that, unlike last Friday, I can leave the office before 11:15 PM tomorrow.
My Mom alerted me last week that Purim was coming up. It’s not a major Jewish holiday so it’s never on my radar and I’m fairly sure the only reason my Mom even knew about it was because someone sold her hamentashen as a fundraiser. I was jealous that she got yummy hamentashen so I went to the bagel place downstairs and got some of my own. They were smaller and not as soft as the ones my Mom gets from the sisterhood, but they were still delicious and a wonderful weekend treat.
On Saturday, I met Lindsay, my Spiritual Gangster, at 40 Carrots for a midday catch up sesh. She was on her way to a yoga class and I had eaten a late brunch so we went against the grain and got smoothies instead of their famous yogurt. They were yummy and sipping them in the middle of such an Upper East Side establishment made it even more fun.
For a couple years I’ve seen every fashion blogger rave about Everlane. According to just about everyone, they make the best fitting and softest t-shirts. When I realized they weren’t all that pricey, I decided to try it for myself. I ordered a t-shirt and short sleeve sweatshirt. And everyone was right. Their stuff is amazing, and I could pretty much live in these tops.
