I kept my evenings open after work this week and love the freedom. Since it’s still light when I leave the office now, I feel like I can do anything. It turns out, what I end up wanting to do is just go home, cook a nice meal, and do some reading. But I have the time to do it, and that’s a lovely thing.
When we met up for supper on Sunday, Steph brought me a belated bday gift – a book by Caroline Manzo. Outside of Steph herself, there’s just one Jersey housewife I love, and that’s Caroline. Let me a-tell you a-something about my family [and friends]. We are thick as thieves and we protect each other til the end. Can’t wait to dive into this guilty pleasure.
I found this great wine bottles at my local wine/liquor store last week. They’re perfect for a house divided, like Steph and Gav’s. This would be a great gift!
I received a 15% coupon from Seamless for my birthday and I decided it needed to be used for sushi – if I’m gonna get a discount, I’m gonna make it count by using it on the priciest cuisine! I grabbed a bottle of rosé on my way home (beer for my manfriend) and when the food came, we took it up to the roof for an al fresco dining experience. It was my first time up on the roof this season and it was glorious. It’s so easy to take our supper up there; I don’t know why we don’t do it more often. I love watching the sunset against the Empire State building, and it makes the weekday a little more exciting without actually having to leave home.
