“Sweet & Sour” is my version of that dinner table game where every guest says what the best and worst parts of the day were. As we head into the weekend, I think it’s important to get the bad stuff off your chest and remember the positives as a silver lining and energizing factor. When the weekend hits, I like to release the “sour” and embrace the “sweet.”
Sweet: I treated myself to an updo at Drybar for my birthday and had an awful experience. I’ve never had any problems there, but I was so disappointed. Of all times to have problems, the night of my big 30th bday party is the worst! Long story short, I arrived early and gave the heads up that I needed to be done on time because I was hosting a part. My appointment began 25 minutes late (when it should have been halfway done) and my stylist didn’t understand the simple style I wanted, despite showing her a picture from their own lookbook. I arrived to my own party late but didn’t let it ruin my night. I did, however, express my displeasure in the online survey Drybar sends out after each appointment. I’m sure you’re thinking this doesn’t sound like it belongs in the “sweet” section of this post. But it does because Drybar reached out to me to apologize and offer me two free blowouts or one free updo to make up for my poor experience. That customer service rebounded me as a customer and now I can’t wait to find an excuse to schedule an appointment!
Sour: My TV is old and doesn’t work all that well. I’ve been putting off getting a new one for a while, but I have a feeling the end is near.
