I’m not a fan of hot dogs, but switch that dog to a sausage and I’m all about it. Albert spotted Brooklyn Bangers in the grocery store and loved that there was a local vendor making sausages so I recently picked up a package for an easy supper.
One of these guys makes for a very satisfying meal. I used the cheddar bratwursts, which are filled with chunks of cabot cheddar that ooze out when you bite into it. To build a perfect dog, spread some Sir Kensington’s ketchup on a hot dog bun, put the brat inside the bun, and top with lots of caramelized onions. I also put some shredded cheese on top because I didn’t really believe you’d taste the cheddar in the brat. I was happy to be proven wrong so you could totally leave of the extra cheese and be fine…or add it if you’re a cheesaholic like me.
