It’s been nice sorta getting back to real life this week. I say sorta because while I may have made a home-cooked meal for the first time in what felt like forever, Yom Kippur fell right in the middle of the week and then we have Columbus Day coming up on Monday. I guess life just isn’t normal right now.

I finally hung two shelves in the kitchen and am in the process of decorating them. Inspired by my ability to keep a plant alive for the first time EVER (going on 3 months), I decided to buy a couple baby plants for the kitchen shelves. Pray for me.

Seeing this mosaic in the subway definitely improved my commute mood.

Work ended on Friday, but I stayed through the weekend so I could see some friends. On Friday night I stayed with my friend Rachel and was so happy to realized that despite last seeing each other ages ago, it was like no time had passed. We were both exhausted so we cooked, drank wine, and watched movies on her very comfy couch with some other friends. It was perfect. The next morning I woke up and headed to Greg and Susan’s place. I’ll never get used to seeing them so rarely since they moved away from the East Coast. It particularly hard on Thanksgiving off years (like this one), so I was extra happy I got to spend some time with them and the kiddos. Grant doesn’t say much yet, but Elle has developed the cutest personality! Hopefully I won’t have to wait a year before seeing them again.
