Ok so we’ve kinda gotten ripped off in the weekend department lately. While we’ve had some very hot weekdays, the weekends have been overcast and the temperature drops by about 10+ degrees. My hopes of hitting up the neighborhood pool have been totally dashed. But there’s a bright side: Georgia football is back!!! We have a tough first game but I’m so happy to be entering college football season. Oh yea, and it’s a long weekend for Labor Day woohoo!

Virtual events are still going pretty strong and I was excited to attend one put on by The Strand, which featured and interview with Carley Fortune and Emily Henry. Henry has written two of the most fun books I’ve read in a while (Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation – both great for the summer) and it was great to hear her process. I’m also now very excited to get my hands on Fortune’s debut novel because it sounds like it’ll be in the same vein. While I miss going to events like this live, I admit it was nice that I didn’t have to rush out the door to make it in time and I was able to cook supper while listening. Best of both worlds!

I’m a big fan of thrifting and antiquing so I was excited to stumble upon a cute little antique shop after lunch this weekend. I walked away with a pair of candlesticks that, once cleaned up, will be perfect for shabbat/holidays.

My bestie is ENGAGED!!!! I could not be more excited for Liz and am honored she dialed my number immediately after it happened. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of love and a happy ending and seeing her happy just makes me SO happy. Now let’s get the festivities going!!!
