Book Review: City of Likes

Megan is looking for some excitement. She recently moved her family to NYC and is trying to get back into the workforce after having her second child – because one income just won’t cut it in the big apple. Her head is spinning trying to figure out how to get her kids into the right preschools, deal with a narcissistic sister in law, find a livable apartment, and keep her marriage spicy…until momfluencer Daphne Cole breezes into her life, flanked by her minions of rich, thirsty Instagram social climbers. Daphne pulls Megan into the fold, offering her the opportunity to become a powerful social media star.

We all knew where this was going – there was no way Daphne’s digital persona wasn’t carefully curated and fake. But when Daphne’s reality pushes into satirical category, that’s when this book got me. It’s nothing serious, but it’s a funny look at our ‘gram obsessed culture.
