This week is a busy one, but I’m working really hard to squeeze everything in, including workouts and last minute errands before traveling. I’m not taking all of next week off, but it’s becoming clear that things will be majorly slowing down at work during the 4th of July week and I can’t wait for a bit of calm. It took a really long time for it to heat up this summer…which means it hasn’t quite clicked that the summer is 1/3 of the way over. Now that I’m realizing how quickly it’s speeding by, I’m determined to make the most of it.

The weather’s been pretty dreary lately so I was thankful to have my Learning with Kelsey box handy for some indoor activities this weekend. This under-the-sea mini sensory bin occupied Finn for a solid half hour.

All I’ve wanted to do for the last month is grill with friends. Unfortunately, weather or other plans kept getting in the way. I was thrilled the weatherman was very wrong when it came to Saturday’s forecast. Matt, Karina, their boys, and Smitty came over for burgers, sausages, and wine in the courtyard. It felt somewhat hectic with kids running around all over the place (resulting in Finn sustaining his first real boo boo), but I still absolutely loved it, even the craziness of it all. I must have more grilling days.

Walking through Central Park, I spotted a Senior tai chi class happening. It was a scene straight from a movie and one of those things I always hoped I’d see when moving to NYC. It’s not the first time I’ve seen it, but it never gets old, and I just love that this is the vibe of my city.
