Welp. It’s been a month (more than…yikes) since I posted, and I don’t love that for me. It’s been really tough to work on this site with my new job. We are 100% in-office and consistently busy with no door to my office so I can’t really even take a few minutes to write while eating my lunch. It’s a new routine that I just need to adjust to – we’ll get there! Today is Rosh Hashanah and in the spirit of new year and new beginings, I’m going to [try to] commit to getting back to it.

It rained pretty much the entire weekend. If you happen to have or know a busy toddler boy like mine, you can understand how difficult that can be. Other than a very brief grocery run in the neighborhood, we were stuck at home alllll day Sunday. We tried to get creative to keep V entertained and our most successful activity was some pumpkin painting. In the end, it wasn’t too bad…but I’m still hoping for clear skies from here on out.

It is terrible for my wallet, but I’m raising quite the bookworm who insists on going to the bookstore and library every weekend. And I can’t be expected to go without picking up something for myself also, right? That would just be ludicrous.

I’m lucky to work next to Breads Bakery, which meant easy access to some of the best challah for Rosh Hashanah. We didn’t really have plans this year so I just made sure to plan slightly elevated/traditional meals last night and tonight and am going to services today. Since I’m still very new at my job, I didn’t feel comfortable taking too much time off to observe so I still need to work, but I am making sure to be particularly introspective today and tomorrow. This time of year is all about starting fresh and righting wrongs, and I’m going to be sure to focus on both of those things…even if I have to sit at my desk while I’m thinking about how to be my best self in the year ahead.
