Mirepoix

I was traveling back from Thanksgiving last Monday and then I took Friday off because I had data to burn and Finn’s birthday to prep for. In theory, I should be extremely refreshed. But the thing is, this weekend really just made me realize how busy December is. We are booked and busy, people. It’s exhausting but nice to feel all the love.

On Sunday we headed to New Jersey to go to the Polar Express with friends. I admit I’ve never seen the movie, but I will jump at the opportunity to wear pajamas all day. The kids all seemed to really enjoy it and it was a great way to break up the day. We are now fully in holiday mode.

On Saturday morning we went to get our tree! I always love this excursion, and this year we got some help from our own little elf when it came to choosing the perfect one.

Saturday was Finn’s actual birthday, but his main celebration was Friday evening after school. We didn’t do much, but it turns out it doesn’t take much to make a 3-year-old happy. He said he wanted a Mei Mei party (from turning red) so I got him a mini costume and he was so proud to wear it. Pizza, his besties, snd and a red panda – what more could a kid want?!
