So we’re all back to full work weeks, full school weeks, full…life. It’s quite the adjustment after such a long holiday break. Honestly, though, I’m not mad about being back in a routine. The one thing I am mad about is the polar vortex we’re experiencing. It’s so crazy cold, and I just wasn’t built for it.

This cookbook arrived in the mail with no note, but it must have come from someone who knows me quite well because Big Night is probably my favorite store in NYC. I love the way this whole book is organized (and I’m not just saying that because my friend Amanda is the editor) and can’t wait to celebrate all the things.

January’s granola flavor is also their latest “perfect 10” – only the third batch to get the honor in 49 months. That means the crème brûlée flavor won’t just be limited edition. This makes me super happy because from the first bite I knew I would have rated it 10/10.

Over the weekend, Matt, Karina, and I took the kids to Lincoln Center for Rock and Roll Playhouse where they got to hear a David Bowie cover band. It was the perfect event. Kids were running up and down the aisles (Finn didn’t sit and watch the concert for more than 30 seconds at a time) but nobody gave a hoot because everyone was in the same boat. They had snacks but were chill about people bringing in outside food. They let kids play with instruments and corn hole in the lobby. Parents were able to relive their glory days with good tunes and alcohol for sale. And most importantly, a large chunk of the day (aka keeping kids occupied and entertained) was taken care of with very little stress. I’ll be going again.
