Next up on my journey to try all of NYC’s affordable omakases is Thirteen Water. Here’s the drill: it’s $75 for 13 courses, but the add-ons include caviar, wagyu, oysters, and uni and admit upfront that you’ll give in to that temptation.

We covered all the fish over our 13 courses, starting with sea bream with sea salt lime, chutoro, yellowtail with shishito, bluefin with shiitake and truffle, and on and on. There was even an uni toast course and a very fatty melt in your mouth piece of tuna topped with caviar. That was all included in the $75. The final course is a handroll and then you can add some specials. Wagyu AND fois gras together as a special? Yupppp. Uni with oyster and caviar? Ok!

It’s a great meal at a reasonable price. And they’ll keep you to a strict timeline, which, honestly, keeps you from going too crazy with the extras.
