Ok wow summer is starting to really fly by. I can’t believe we’ve only got one month left! I’m sad about it already. We’ve been lucky to have some sort of activity or plan every single weekend so I’ve felt very busy. I’m constantly exhausted, but it’s been nice not to wake up on Saturday and think “what the heck am I going to do all weekend?!” It’s also nice that none of us have after-work plans any day this week. It will be good to catch up on sleep and cook some well-rounded meals.

The Strand, a favorite bookstore, just opened location number 3 in the former Shakespeare & Co. space. This one has a cute little cafe and a few stools at the front, making it a nice option for doing a little work. It’s probably their smallest location, but still plenty of great books to be found and no strand is a bad strand, IMO.

Over the weekend, friends invited us to a dinosaur exhibit in New Jersey. It was basically Jurassic Park with plenty of dino-based activities for young kiddos. Finn had a blast and I couldn’t stop laughing at him running around inside an inflatable triceratops.

About three weeks ago I signed up for a 5-mile race. Whyyyyy?! I only half trained (meaning, I just did a few 30-minute runs instead of 20-minute ones) for the last two weeks so it wasn’t my best showing. In the end, I had to take a few walking breaks during the run, which left me a bit disappointed in myself, but I still finished in 44:15 (which means an 8:51 pace). Not my best, but not abysmal so I’ll take it. It felt good having a goal for the last few weeks that got me into the gym, so I’m hoping to keep that up. And I got to take my brand new shoes for a spin!
