Other than the awful allergies I’m experiencing, this week has been really nice. We found a nice groove and when work picked up for me, my beau really picked up the slack. We had a very rough school dropoff on Monday, but things have otherwise felt smooth. I’m not even bummed about losing an hour of sleep over the weekend – gimme all the daylight.

A fresh haircut shouldn’t be wasted! I didn’t have any plans on Thursday after my haircut and the 8:30 end time would make it tough to make any. Albert suggested I stay out anyway and I decided he was right. I scooped up a 9pm reservation at Sushi W, one of my favorite omakase spots. It was perfect: it’s affordable so I don’t feel guilty going on a weeknight, it’s not weird to dine solo at a sushi counter, and the strict time slot ensured I wouldn’t be out too late. I brought my book and writing notes and enjoyed a great hour by myself. PS – I’m loving this book!

One of the coolest things about Finn’s school is the ice skating. It blows my mind that he was fitted for his own helmet and skates and skates around Central Park every week – all covered and arranged by NYC Public Schools. On Saturday, they hosted family skate so we could see his progress and I couldn’t believe it. He has now been ice skating more times than I have my entire life…and he’ll very soon be better at it than I am.

In preparation to list our apartment (something I recognize is necessary but still devastating), we are refacing the cabinets. I think it will look good, but I’ll be very happy when it’s done and I’m no longer living in a construction zone. Feels like grown up things though. Crazy.
