Mirepoix

This Memorial Day weekend felt different. It was rainy all weekend so it had a distinctly “off” vibe. I always love how the city empties out on long weekends, but we didn’t get the droves of likeminded rosé sippers in the park like we usually do. It felt less like a kickoff to summer than it typically does. BUT the fact remains that it was just that, so we kept ourselves busy, discovered some new museums, and got ourselves giddy about summer – well, I certainly did at least! And now we have a short week!

Last week, Rebekah and I went to see Ragtime and could not have been more impressed with the performance. I see some Tony awards in their future in a week and a half.

My job is 100% in office, but on Fridays during the summer we get to WFH and it’s a true blessing. My work doesn’t currently require a ton of calls/meetings so it is very easy to adapt to a coffee shop environment, and I love finding my favorite spots. I live for the 13 days of the year where I get to do this.

I’m guilty of sitting at my desk allll day, especially if it’s cold out. But we all know fresh air is good for mental health and I happen to work right on Union Square. Even though I brought my lunch yesterday that I did, indeed, ear at my desk, I made a point to leave the office for a few minutes and walk around Union Square Greenmarket, one of the best farmers markets the city has to offer. I picked up some goodies, including some of Andrew’s Honey, and felt great when I got back to my desk.
