Two years ago, my brother was in Vegas and texted me a picture of the most ridiculous looking bloody mary I’ve ever seen. There was a mini cheeseburger perched on the rim. It was so over the top…and I had to have one. I’m sure he thought I forgot about it, but an outlandish bloody mary is something that is branded into my cerebral cortex so, two years later, when I found myself in Vegas with my brother I casually suggested we go to “that bloody mary place.” No I didn’t. I begged him and my parents til I wore them down and they had no choice but to go to Todd English P.U.B. with me.
The menu is large and filled with lots of comfort food. The portions are massive and I couldn’t finish my whole meal. That could also be because – no exaggeration – my bloody mary was a meal in itself. The warm pretzel with cheese dip was good, though the pretzel was a little greasy (but it also wasn’t dry on the inside so I guess that’s a wash). My wedge salad was good, but the avocado (a big reason why I chose the dish) was underripe. Ok, so the food was not as amazing as I had hoped, but the bloody mary was everything I dreamed of and more.
When ordering a bloody, you can go with their pre-made version (boring) or build your own (yes). There are so many options, but here’s what I chose:
- Horseradish infused vodka
- Todd’s sinful blend tomato juice
- Cucumber water
- Pickled green beans
- Blue cheese stuffed olives
- Beef jerkey
The shrimp was an extra $4.76, bringing my bloody mary cost to about $26. It was worth it. Skip the meal because this drink will fill you right up and make sure you check this place out on your next Vegas trip if for no other reason than to make all your friends jealous by texting them a pic of a bloody they surely can’t get at home.
