3 on Thursday

It is so nice to be just a few hours away from one of my bestest friends.  It means there was nothing stopping me from celebrating her 30th birthday with her in DC.  I have spent this week recovering and getting ready for more celebrations this weekend.

Liz reserved the top room at Shaw’s Tavern.  It was a great party space – highly recommend for any DC-er looking to plan an event.

The final celebration for Liz’ big birthday was a Sunday brunch at Irish Whiskey Public House, which has – wait for it – $1 bottles of champagne with the purchase of an entrée.  That’s a party brunch that can’t be beat.

Though the rumors of last week’s blizzard were greatly exaggerated, I loved the freaking out that went into the Monday evening prep.  I was giddy for the snow day and downed a bottle of wine myself once we knew we weren’t going into the office on Tuesday.  Yup.  It was fun watching the snow pile up on Monday night with the tingly hope that the entire city would be white by Tuesday morning.
