If I’m being totally honest, last week was the week from Hell at work.  And then some not fun personal stuff on top of that.  It was rough.  The long Presidents’ Day weekend could not have come at a better time.  I needed a fun-filled weekend and that extra day to regroup and now I’ve started this week with a much better attitude.

Everyone was drained after such a terrible week and since we managed to resolve most of the issues, we left the office a little early on Friday.  I’m not into Valentine’s Day, but thankfully Albert had planned a wonderful, special pre-Valentines evening that started at Corkbuzz.  It was the exact attitude adjustment I needed.

Part 2 of Albert’s date night was Bayside! The Musical! I am a Saved By The Bell freak so I was so excited about this one.  It’s an off-off-off-off-Broadway parody show that is too dirty for the Saturday morning timeslot when the original tv show aired.  Recommended for a night when you’re looking to do something a little different.

I’ve always loved Saturday Night Live.  I have a box set of the earliest seasons, used to have an SNL wall calendar in my high school bedroom, performed my version of Coffee Talk for a camp talent show, and even organized a Saturday Night Live sorority/fraternity social in college.  Obviously, I was pretty excited about the big 40th anniversary special.  I am happy to say it lived up to my nostalgic expectations.  The best part was that it aired on the Sunday night of a long weekend so we could treat it like a Saturday.  For us, that meant gathering at Shawn and Kathleen’s apartment and playing a drinking game based around every time the actors broke character and laughed.  It was so much better to watch something like this as a group!
