Today I am off to Connecticut for a wedding. This time, we’re celebrating Albert’s best friend and he will be the best man. I can’t wait to hear his speech and tear up the dance floor!
Michelle’s wedding this past weekend was held at Immaculate Conception Church. It was breathtaking. Not an ounce of decoration was needed.
Neither Michelle nor her new husband Ray are from New Orleans, but it has become their home so they decided to have the wedding there. Though not natives, they have become locals so we participated in a great Nola wedding tradition: the second line. A second line is a parade led by a brass band. We dance-walked from the ceremony to the reception, waving hankies and pumping parasols. The band took us all the way into the reception site where we proceeded to boogie. The reception was held at The Chicory, an old coffee warehouse. The space was simple with exposed brick and beams but it needed no more than candles to make it an absolutely lovely space.
As you probably heard, the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collaboration broke the internet. It was pretty much impossible to get clothes. Luckily, I heard about a pre-sale in Bryant Park so I snagged a few pieces (in love!). After grabbing the goods, I walked through the Lilly area they staged on the 6th Ave side of the park. The cheerful space (they turned the fountain pink!) put me in a great mood for work.
