With all the ivy hanging above the [very tall] door frame, Lillie’s looks like an oasis in the middle of Times Square. If you’re looking for a place to grab a drink before a show or after work, it’s a great choice thanks to its less-than-cheesy vibe. Usually, pre-show bars feel like you’re settling, but Lillie’s is the kind of place I am happy to choose.
Not only did I like the Victorian vibe of red tufted sofas and woodwork (yay – no more neon that’s so prevalent in Times Square!), I loved that they serve drinks in nice glasses when appropriate (mules, fancy cocktails). I didn’t have any food, but the menu looked good so that’s another check in the pro column.
