“Sweet & Sour” is my version of that dinner table game where every guest says what the best and worst parts of the day were. As we head into the weekend, I think it’s important to get the bad stuff off your chest and remember the positives as a silver lining and energizing factor. When the weekend hits, I like to release the “sour” and embrace the “sweet.”
Sweet: One thing I’ve learned with wedding planning is that it doesn’t all go as planned. I had a great idea for a backdrop but for various reasons, we’re unable to execute it. What did I say to that? Whatever. In the grand scheme of things, people won’t even notice so what’s the point of worrying about it? I have bigger fish to fry. That said, there was one thing (relating to our day-of timeline) that was seriously stressing me out. There are very few things for which I have felt the urge to put my foot down (most of them food related), but this was one of those things. Thankfully, we found out on Wednesday that we could change up the timeline and…problem solved! I let out a huge sigh of relief. It was a good moment.
Sour: Since I had been “on” all weekend at Lindsay’s wedding, I didn’t take advantage of my Monday off. Once I got back to the city I pretty much just sat around the apartment.
