3 on Thursday

My beau was not happy to be home last weekend when he was supposed to have been at a golf tournament.  Not gonna lie, I was actually looking forward to having a random weekend to myself.  That said, we mad the most of our weekend in the city and it actually turned out to be so much better than I could have hoped.  Definitely better than an alone weekend!  This weekend we have a wedding to attend as well as prepping our apartment for the market.  Should be a fun long weekend.  Hope everyone’s Memorial Day is as nice as mine is shaping up to be!

Twice last week I ended up walking all the way home from work.  That’s actually more than 1/4 of the length of the entire island of Manhattan!  I wanted to take advantage of the nice weather and have the opportunity to clear my head and listen to some podcasts.  Along the way I spotted some fun street art, like this guy.

I am totally drinking the 305 Fitness KoolAid.  Going to classes there has become a highlight of my weekend.  It’s certainly an indulgence, but I justify it by cutting back in other places and also by recognizing that it’s not the kind of class I could ever take at my gym.  I don’t care how great SoulCycle or Flywheel are…it’s not that much different than the spin classes offered for free as part of my gym membership.  This, on the other hand, is a totally different workout.  It’s just pure FUN.  When I leave the studio, my head is clear and there’s always a smile on my face.  And it makes me even prouder to be one of the #305Junkies when they do fun events like this weekend’s #TheOtherYou.  The class itself was the same, but they decked out the studio with crazy decor, had a selfie station, offered makeup/flash tats, served vodka punch, and had the staff in outlandish costumes. I love that they do things like that!  It made the process of sweating my face off way more fun.

We decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather on Sunday and had a park day.  We picked up tons of great snackies at the UES Whole Foods and camped out on The Great Lawn, soaking up the sun and [in my case] plowing through 4 magazines.  On the walk back we stumbled upon Bow Bridge.  I’ve only been there once in all my time in NYC, and it’s truly beautiful.
