What a crazy week it’s been! I was off on Monday for President’s Day and am heading to Utah tomorrow for a lil family vacay. Throw in a milestone event for our little family and you’ve got an amazing week.
The long weekend started with a bang as we met up with some of our closest friends for a baller dinner. All four of us had exciting work news to share so we decided to celebrate with a lot of steak and a lot of cocktails at Knickerbockers, a favorite old school spot.
My beau and I had big plans to spend Sunday in Soho and cap off the day by seeing Black Panther. Apparently every single human wanted to see the movie because every showing (and theaters were tripling up on show times) was sold out. We tried 3 theaters with no luck. Thankfully, we managed to snag two tix on Monday evening, and I was able to finish off the long weekend by watching a great movie. I typically try to avoid Times Square, but I have to admit it is kind of a marvel. I’m not saying I would choose to go to the movies there, but if I have to, it’s kind of cool to feel like you’re living in a cartoon. Also, the movie was so good. The cast was incredible, there were some super cool female characters to admire, and the action was great.
The biggest news of the week is that we FINALLY closed on our home!!! I say finally because this has been an unnaturally long process. Everything that could have gone wrong did. We even dealt with issues we didn’t know were possible, like them accidentally selling the apartment to someone else even though we were under signed contract. Overall, it took about 3 months longer than normal to complete the entire process. It was frustrating and resulted in some lost money, but in the end we have a home we should be able to love for a very long time.
