This week has been a busy one at work, especially as I’m trying to wrap everything up before leaving on vacation. Though busy, it’s still been a great week. My beau was out of town on business for most of it so I got to watch the Real Housewives Bev Hills finale on the actual night it aired (!) and test recipes. He came back Wednesday night, when we watched a movie and had a delayed Taco Tuesday celebration. Now it’s all about vacay prep. It’s been rainy here so I’m soooo ready for some fun in the sun!
This shot of our new home, mid-construction, may not be pretty, but it was so amazing for us to see some progress actually being made. We’re planning to check it out again on Saturday, which will be the last time before actually moving in.
Last week’s Friday breakfast at work was Russ and Daughters…and now I’m totally spoiled. We don’t get breakfast every week, but we often have a little somethin somethin lying around the office so we can indulge. A full bagel spread from one of NYC’s best shops?! That’s a great indulgence. Already got me thinking about tomorrow’s breakfast…
Last night I finally saw Casablanca for the first time. This is one of those bucket list movies, and I’m so glad I was finally able to see it. I loved it. Morocco has been #2 on my travel bucket list for about 15 years, and this just made me want to go all the more. Ingrid Bergman is gorgeous and her costumes in this film are incredible; though, I have to say I didn’t love her character. We’re supposed to melt at Ilsa and Rick’s epic love story, but she seemed a bit like a flip flopper of a woman who is toying with the emotions of not one but two men who are literally trying to overthrow evil and secure world peace. Still, it was a wonderful classic movie that I’m sure I’ll watch again.
