I had narrowed it town to three hotels in Philly when we recently visited for Lindsay’s birthday/housewarming party. All hotels were in the same neighborhood and were the exact same price. When I asked the new Philly local which I should go with, she suggested The Logan because it had a great rooftop bar that set it apart from the other two, equally trendy Logan Square area hotels.
Since it was the whole reason we chose the hotel, we decided to grab a drink there before heading to the party, and I’m so glad we did. Assembly Rooftop is a modern rooftop lounge on the 9th floor of the hotel with impressive views of the city. I loved that there were a bunch of individual seating areas carved out, some with fire pits. It was perfect for having a conversation with a gorgeous background (you could see all the way to the museum steps) and good drinks.
Speaking of drinks, we only had time for one so I made sure to make it a good one. The Cynar Julep (it happened to be Derby Day so a julep was a must) was made with cynar artichoke amaro, wild turkey rye, fresh grapefruit, mint simple syrup, and green chartreuse oat. It was actually a perfect julep. At $15, the drinks may not be cheap, but it’s a nice way to start the night with a sophisticated cocktail.
