This week has been a busy one with – what else – more home improvements.  We’re at the point now where things are moving along quickly and every day it feels more and more like a cozy home.  At this point, even without the items we’re waiting on, I’d actually say I finally feel like it’s home.  Last weekend we hosted our first visitors on Friday, went to an all-day/night party on Saturday, and caught a nostalgic summer movie (The Sandlot) on the big screen.  This weekend is shaping up to be just as busy and fun.  We’re already hosting visitor #2 since my bestie, Liz, is coming for the weekend.  I’ve already been planning bars and restaurants to hit up and 305 classes to take.  I’m so excited for her to get here!

I love this little corner on our breakfast bar with fresh flowers, one of the first pieces of art I ever purchased, a candle, and a bowl for fruit (or, in my case, let’s be real, that bowl’s for avocados).  I set it up to pretty-up the place for our guests last weekend, but I think this is going to be a longstanding presence. It’s a nice thing to see when you walk in the door.

A while ago, my beau started the tradition of bringing me a coffee on his way back from his SoulCycle or Flywheel class.  Now that we have an in-building gym with Peloton bikes, he’s not usually going outside for Saturday morning classes so I was very happy to see he was still willing to run down the block to grab me some java and keep the tradition alive.

Another favorite tradition: Taco Tuesday!  Since we technically live in el Barrio (Spanish Harlem), our local grocery store carries some great Mexican food products and spices.  Our Taco Tuesday meal is way better with fresh corn tortillas and cotija cheese.
