Book Review: The Silent Patient

This book is a debut and getting a lot of buzz. It’s being called a psychological thriller, but I would say it’s more psychological than thriller. Literally.

Theo Faber is a psychotherapist who has long been intrigued by Alicia Berenson’s case. You see, Alicia and her hubby Gabriel had a pretty blissful marriage until, one day, when when Alicia shoots him five times in the face. After the murder, Alicia stops speaking and has not said a word in six years. Theo is determined to understand Alicia and her motives and gets himself assigned to her case in an institution for the criminally insane. As Theo fixates on the problem, his own issues are exposed.

4 out of 5 stars.
