This week has been a busy work week as I get ready for my first event (that I’m hosting). My beau is also gone allll week, and it’s been quite a while since we’ve been apart this long. Just as I finish catching up on all my tv while he’s away, I’ll get to hang out with my parents who arrive tomorrow!!! They’re tacking a quick visit onto a DC work trip, and I could not be more excited.
I discovered the jalapeno sauce at Trader Joe’s and am obsessed. I knew it was good when I enjoyed it on some sweet potato fries (how they were sampling it at the in-store demo) and I’m not a sweet potato fry fan. It’s actually not that spicy and goes well on just about anything. It was the perfect topping on my chorizo tacos this week. Get yourself to TJ’s asap.
I’m not a poetry person, but I think this one (which was featured in a book I’m currently reading) is pretty great.
The first part of the week was gross. It rained non-stop starting Saturday at 9 PM until Tuesday. We finally started seeing some beautiful weather around lunchtime yesterday. Even a busy, construction-filled street like this stretch of 3rd Avenue makes me happy when it’s bathed in sunlight.
