I’m definitely reaping the benefits of the short week. It truly felt like a Sunday on Monday’s day off so by the time I started work on Tuesday, the week has been flying by. I’m not saying we’re doing much, but we’ve had some form of plans most weekends. True, that may just mean plans to watch the Super Bowl at home or go to Brooklyn to pick up takeout, but there’s been at least a little something on the calendar…until this weekend. That means it’s time to make some plans! It looks like Saturday will be a movie night chez Neudeck. I’m still thinking of ways to make it different/special, but I’m excited to cozy up with a good flick.

As a Valentine’s Day surprise, my beau got us tickets to The Met. With entrances timed, masks enforced, capacity capped, it felt very safe. It had been FOREVER since I’d been to The Met and I realized how much I miss going there. I used to be a member of the Met and the MOMA but let my membership lapse when I no lived nor worked nearby. Seeing art again like this was good for the soul.

My “gift” to Albert this Valentine’s Day was a nice home-cooked meal. We lit the candles and had a proper appetizer course before the meal, which, of course, had to include steak. Who doesn’t like a little Sunday evening romance?!

I spent almost all of my day off watching tv…and I’m not at all sorry about it. I did get in a nice walk on my pilgrimage to Trader Joe’s so I can still say I accomplished something. The snow is rapidly melting around here, but there was still some left in Morningside Park where kids were spending their day off sledding. I didn’t grow up with snow so this scene felt straight out of a movie.
