Mirepoix

We’ve had a good sleeper on our hands this week! I’m still waking up in the wee hours of the morning to pump (which is rough, I’m not gonna lie), but eliminating the number of times I’m also waking up to tend to him is a game changer. Now I just need everyone to cross their fingers that the weather holds out so my Mom can visit as planned this weekend!

The weather has been a bit warmer so I’ve gotten to take Finn on some walks. He finally went into a store for the first time and [shocking to nobody who knows me] it was was a bookstore. I love The Corner Bookstore and it’s just far enough away to make for a really great walk. I’m hoping exposing Finn early will turn him into a bookworm.

I’m still working my way through the thank you notes for all the generous gifts our friends and family sent in honor of Finn’s birth. I have to say, though, that I’m much more excited to write them now that his personalized stationery arrived.

New York City dwellers have a reputation for being rude, but I’ve always found the opposite to be true. Case in point: our neighbors brought us a lovely Valentine’s gift and welcomed Finn to the crew. I would bet that I know more of our neighbors than friends who live in the burbs and it’s so warming to have a true community here.
