Oof this week, man. Finn was sick over the weekend – he had a fever and pretty much slept all day – but was thankfully all better on Monday (I could tell because he was perky and eating again). I was so excited to see him back to his old self that I spent 30 minutes rolling around on the floor with him, just giggling and hugging before bed. That was perhaps not my best move because by 10:30 am on Tuesday, I found myself working very hard to stave off whatever germs he’d passed along to me. I’m determined to stay well because I’ve got quick trips to both Atlanta and Connecticut on the books for this weekend.

The weather on Sunday was *chef’s kiss* and we made sure to take advantage. Finn was still under the weather so we took him on a long walk to the book store (per his explicit request) where he perked up long enough to choose a new book and listen to a few stories before going back to sleep in the stroller for the walk home. While he napped, I went on a run outside because how could I not?! It was 66 degrees and I could jog in short sleeves – bliss! I’m pretty sure every person in NYC had the same idea because Central Park (and especially the Reservoir) were packed, but I didn’t mind having to dodge crowds. I was just happy to soak up the warm weather.

I no longer live in 2nd Avenue Deli’s delivery zone, but I do live near The Handpulled Noodle and ordered myself some soup to help drive away the cold that was knocking at my door. It definitely helped (as did the Tylenol I pounded round the clock) – what is it about soup?!

Finn had an early dismissal today due to parent teacher conferences and that meant I had the whole afternoon with him. Since he won’t see me at all on Friday or Saturday I wanted to soak it all in and make sure we truly interacted. Our final activity for the day was to make one of his favorite coffee shop treats: croissants. It was my first time cooking with him and we had a lot of fun. Can’t wait for more kitchen adventures with my little sous chef.
