Book Review: The Jolliest Bunch

My favorite pop culture analyst is back with another collection of essays. Well, he was back around the holiday season, but I’m just getting around to reviewing this now. I was a big fan of his first collection and still a fan today. This time, all the stories revolve around the holidays and our friend Danny has seen some stuff. He’s been on a road trip with an unhinged, inebriated stranger with questionable dating habits, watched his mom fully lose it, and battled Black Friday scam artists.

Danny Pellegrino is a true millennial, which means his tales will hit you right in the heart if you’re between the ages of 27 and 42. Nostalgia galore and I love that they all tie to the same festive theme. And if you happen to have a wacky family (because so often holidays = family, whether that’s blood or found), this is for you.

4 out of 5 stars (great…but just didn’t love as much as the first collection, which got a 5-star rating)
