If you’re looking for a pre- or post-theater drink or snack (or full meal, your call), Briciola is a great choice. The two narrow, adjacent rooms are rustic and cozy, which means it’s perfect for a date night or catch-up with a friend. Basically, it’s your standard Italian wine bar (cocktails too, don’t worry), but sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

It was late on a Wednesday night after a Broadway show so we weren’t looking to hardcore booze and feast. A glass of wine and a lil something to share is all we needed. There was a burrata special so you can bet we ordered that. Served with tomato and prosciutto, it was exactly what we wanted. We also split a pesto penne with artichokes. It would be easy to top this with a protein if you’re looking for something a bit more substantial, but we didn’t need anything too heavy at such a late hour. I did, however, love the addition of artichokes. You don’t see them all that often in a pasta dish (when you do it’s always a light tomato sauce) and I like the tang.

There’s actually a second location in Harlem. I haven’t been yet (it’s on the opposite end of the neighborhood from where I live), but you can trust it’s been filed away for the future. But I think the Hell’s Kitchen location is really where it’s at because it’s nice having a solid option in that area that’s not mediocre bar snacks.
