We are in the middle of fake spring right now. The temps are mid to high 50s and it’s been wonderful. Everyone’s mood has lifted. I’ll be very sad when this goes away, as I’m sure it will next week because Mother Nature loves to mess with us. It’s been a VERY busy week at work, which is somewhat stressful, but it’s also been nice to see the hours breeze by. I’m looking forward to this weekend, which I’ve been careful not to overschedule. I think a cheese plate might be in order.

I haven’t done much to celebrate Purim over the years, but I looooove me some hamentashen. I’m so happy the season is upon us and I intend to pick up the delicious cookies from [at least] two separate bakeries over the course of the next two weeks.

On Saturday, Finn announced his plan for Sunday: he wanted to go to the bookstore and get mac and cheese at a restaurant. Never have I felt more strongly that this was my child. I was happy to oblige and off we went! He insisted on paying for lunch as my date so I handed him the credit card to hand to the waiter, which got a round of “awwws” from the other diners. The only downside of the day was that he took a spill on his scooter that resulted in a bump the size of a golf ball on his forehead. (You can sorta make it out in the photo.) It was our first real injury, which was a very scary moment as a parent – especially when I was the only one around. But I was proud of him for dusting himself off and being so strong. (The lemonade at lunch helped.)

Last night I went to an 8:30 pm class at Peloton…only to realize the class is, in fact, tonight. I rolled my eyes at myself, but in the end I rather enjoyed having a few moments to myself, eating some fave sushi in an empty pavilion while scrolling TikTok. (I’m sure I would have felt way differently if we weren’t having such wonderful spring-like weather right now.) the best part is that I realized my mistake with just enough time to make it home and read bedtime books to V.
