4th of July was great, but it was the overall weekend that really had me smiling. The holiday itself felt pretty chill while also very packed. We started the morning by taking V to the movie theater for the first time (to see Elio), which he really enjoyed. From there, we had a very holiday-ish lunch at Harlem Shake followed by a courtyard hang with our neighbors. Then it was off to the burbs to hang with friends at their town’s festival. Another first: Finn saw fireworks on the train ride back. Saturday morning brought two more firsts for Finn: a ferry ride and corn dog when we went to Governor’s Island for Albert’s race. The rest of the weekend included some favorites, like dim sum and the bookstore. It’s so nice to have one minute after another be filled with moments that make my fam happy.

On Sunday I hit my 450th Peloton run and I celebrated by taking the class in-studio. It was my first studio class with Marcel and hopefully not my last because it was a PARTY. We were literally twerking before the cameras turned on. It felt strange to take an endurance class where we stayed in the easy pace target the whole time, but it was nice to have a different type of challenge – and I still came in third so it felt nice and sweet.

My most recent flower arrangement feels particularly joyful.

Very yummy Mexican food, a cute new dress, and the best company (thanks to a last minute visit from my cousin) made for a truly great Monday night.
