After a wild trip to Vegas last weekend, I’ve been flying solo. I got home at 9pm on Sunday and Albert left at 4:45am on Monday for a work trip. He’s set to get in late this afternoon but then leaves again tomorrow morning for a golf trip. While we often do our own things, this separation feels notably beefy, and I’m ready for him to be home. Also, the busy level has really cranked up. The weekends are packed, there are vacations on top of vacations, and work has been stressful. It’s been very fun, but it’s also been tough and I’m about to be at the point where I require some quiet time.

We went to Vegas to see BSB at the Sphere. The whole thing started as a joke, but then “what if…” turned into purchased airline tickets in under 24 hours. It was everything my lil millennial heart dreamed of. I sang every word and danced nonstop. And we all know I love a theme so I was thrilled to lean into the dress code. Everything about the trip – from the hotel lounge to the dinners to the outfits – just fell into place exactly how we imagined. This marks the second spontaneous August trip Rebekah and I have done in three years and I think it needs to be an annual thing.

Writing has been tough lately. I have had a difficult time finding my motivation and want to just sink into the couch after supper rather than whip out my laptop. But last week I pushed forward and hit what feels like another milestone: 50k words. I am now solidly over halfway done (63%, to be exact), and it feels great. With this week being a busy one, I haven’t gotten any writing done, but I’m still feeling good about the progress right about now.

Photo by Finn. I look tired, yes, but I also don’t look too terrible. In fact, I’m kinda impressed with his skill. I don’t want to push stuff with screens, but if there’s an artistic side I can nurture it might be something cool to explore.
