Sandwiches are good; chopped sandwiches are special. Brown Bag Sandwich Co. has built their whole business around the chopped sandwich to ensure that whether it’s a roll or a wrap, each bite is a perfect bite. You know the kind – when all the ingredients are harmoniously mixed and dressed just right.

Now the big question…chicken Caesar or buffalo chicken? In the end, I went with the buff chick and it was a solid choice with a great dressing. I would definitely get it again but am now particularly intrigued by the hot roast beef and cheddar and the spicy tuna melt. I guess I gravitate toward the hot sandwiches…though if you’re a cold Italian meat kind of a kid, those look great too. Oh and I got the potato salad, which is good for the Dijon lovers out there. The melted leeks made it, but the potatoes could have been a little smaller and cooked just a hair longer.

A big sloppy unabashed sandwich is what you want when you’re overworked and exhausted. It’s those people who design the best combos. I, myself, am always particularly proud of my bodega creations. And that’s where these sandwiches come from. This shop is the brainchild of Michelin star chefs who filled their own bellies at the corner store after a shift. These are New York sandwiches, through and through.
