Soooo happy the office was closed on Monday for Presidents’ Day. I really needed the day to recover from my bachelorette festivities.
I received some beautiful flowers on Valentine’s Day. In fact, my Valentine’s Day was pretty perfect. In addition to the flowers, I tried a new activity (dance lessons, see below), went to a favorite restaurant (Ruby’s), found a top I was looking for (on sale!), and got to watch my favorite tv show (This Is Us…even though it made me cry this week). None of those things were actually planned for Valentine’s Day, but it worked out so nicely that it was a perfect storm of awesome on a Tuesday. I’m not really into Valentine’s Day, but after this year I may be turning over a new leaf.
Last week, Albert and I took a dance lesson at Fred Astaire to prepare for our wedding. While we’ve both been known to tear up the dance floor, it was good to learn the foundation of actual steps. We might take one more to learn the proper form for a dip, but other than that the plan is to just wing it out there. Is that a mistake for a first dance? Maybe. Guess we’ll find out in about six weeks!
I work at Sports Illustrated, which means the biggest week of the year is Swimsuit week. I am happy to say it went swimmingly (see what I did there?). The events team did an amazing job organizing everything, and the clients I worked on specifically seemed happy. The Thursday night launch party (which I like to say officially kicked off my bachelorette weekend) turned a raw loft space into the tropics. The coolest LED Lexus was parked in the lobby and streamed video right onto the hood of the car. Once upstairs there were waterfalls, poké bowls, and models galore. I was thrilled to be just a small part of it.
